Become a 51吃瓜网Governor

The role of a Governor within one of our 51吃瓜网Academies is a serious yet extremely rewarding duty.

Interested in becoming a 51吃瓜网governor?

Talk to the current Chair of Governors who leads the Local Governing Body. When there’s a vacancy for a parent governor all parents will be informed, and you’ll have a chance to stand for election.  Appointed governors can be recruited any time there is a vacancy, and the person has a skills set that the governing body needs.

We are keen to recruit Governors of the highest calibre, but we are aware that not many people have the expertise to step into an Academy Governor role and operate at a high level straight away.  So, academies will provide all the training and support that newly-appointed governors need, including a full induction programme.

Before you put yourself forward, talk to your employer. Many employers recognise the role of school governor as useful work experience and may offer paid leave for governor duties.
